Job Description
We are looking for a creative, passionate and user-focussed Product Engineer committed to supporting vulnerable individuals through product innovation.
As Product Engineer at Chiptech, you will be designing products that make a real difference in people’s lives and seeing them through from initial sketch to completion and launch across varying markets. Key Responsibilities
- To take new product and design concepts from initial concept through to completion and launch across varying markets
- Be a key stakeholder in driving and specifying Chiptech’s future focused Product Development Pipeline
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and existing products to identify areas for improvement
- Coordinate with stakeholders to create detailed statement of requirements for development projects
- Take ideas from initial sketch to proof of concept and present to Senior Management and the Engineering Team
- Use CAD and CAE technologies to create product designs, drawings, and diagrams and to use 3D printing where appropriate.
- Research and identify the suitability and availability of materials
- Test prototypes for usability, safety, and design flaws
- Ensure all designs meet legal safety and country requirements
- Present designs and product demonstrations for client approval
Required Experience
- Product engineering or equivalent degree (essential)
- Experience and confidence in CAD software (essential)
- Experience in idea generation and prototyping (essential)
Location: Palatine Hall, Dalton Square, Lancaster, LA1 1PW | Reporting to: Head of Product and Brand | Salary: £30K-£45K (Dependent on experience)
